Easy to use amazing result

I just brought this and it’s the best thing ever. Covers well, blends easily and stays on face. Best of all, it’s a great handy size with the brush on other side. Definitely recommend this to everyone.

Quick and lightweight

I’m on to my 2nd stick in “Stromboli” and I’ve been using the velvet matte foundation stick for about 2 months now. It’s a really nice formula, other than it does have a tendancy to cling somewhat to dry patches on the face. However this is to be expected with creme foundations, I also find that this can be minimised with a good primer and the technique used to apply. The sponge applicator shouldn’t be used for your full face, I would steer clear of a beauty blender also, I’ve found that this foundation works best with a flat top kabuki brush. when applied with the brush it’s quick and easy to blend out and the radiant creamy concealer works perfectly with this foundation too. I don’t tend to find the foundation moving around throughout the day, I do set my face with a setting spray and it holds up very well throughout the day and well into the evening. When I come to taking makeup off on a night time, my face looks just as good as when I applied it... with the exception of my nose. I have this problem with every foundation though, it’s because I subconsciously touch my nose throughout the day and it wears the product away.

Bad texture

I was extremely excited for this product. Unfortunately it does not fit my skin at all. The color was ok (as usually in NARS products) but the texture was way too creasy for me. When you apply it to your face it just moves around and does not stay. Very dissapointed. I would not recommend this product although I love NARS as a brand.

One word - amazing I purchased this 1 month ago as a avid sheer glow and all day luminous foundation fan I was dubious on using this stick. However purchased in colour Barcelona same colour as the above foundations. I love it from first use it glides on so easily and easy to work with and even once on it doesn’t feel dry or flakey ( some other sticks I have used do this to my skin) . I got complemented on my skin from the first time I used it. Handy as you can pop in your bag a touch using the sponge on the other end, perfect for travelling light and compact. I personally use a damp beauty blender and works wonders. Well done Nars for exceeding my very high expections.

Let down..

I was so disappointed with this product. Found it so hard to blend, and was expecting more coverage.. and more foundation! The stick ran out SO quickly and I was only using it for light day-to-day makeup. Also, I’m not sure if it was just mine but the blender smelt horrible and I could smell it in my Foundation all day. I have normal-oily skin and this made my t-zone super oily, powder couldn’t stop it and it basically melted on my face! Normally you pay for what you get with Nars so this is definitely overpriced, stick to all day luminous! Using the blender on other foundations turns out it’s pretty good so it’s the only thing I’d recommend..

What a disappointment...

I ordered mine just upon release and was very excited. I travel a lot and thought the foundation stick would be super handy, especially because I am a huge Nars fan and have never been disappointed in any of my purchased products. The foundation has a creamy texture and application is easy but then the mess starts: the foundation starts to separate and break down which looks horrible. It builds up on the weirdest places and then vanishes on others. I have tried it with so many different approaches: different skincare, with or without powders, only combined with Nars products, only with products from other brands, with or without primer and so on... I really wanted to like this product but was utterly disappointed. Whenever I use it I have a bad makeup day which never happens with my other Nars foundations. Honestly, save your money and go for another product, I wish I had done so.

I've had this product abut week. I love the way it' sits and feels on my skin. It's easy to blend. I never leave to house without it. As it is quick to patch up any areas that need it

Nice formulation but minimal coverage

Have been using this for a couple of weeks now. The coverage is much poorer than Nars' liquid foundation equivalent (I use Sheer Glow foundation and it's wonderful). The sponge seems to wipe off more foundation than it leaves behind. If you keep building up the coverage by adding more, eventually the effect is lovely, but then the (rather short) stick of product won't last very long. Probably best for people who are basically happy with their skin's appearance but would like a smidge of foundation to even out the tone.
