Received this as a gift from my boyfriend and I love it! It’s a perfect subtle vanilla that I love wearing to the office. My only complaint is that it doesn’t last too long, but as I’ve had it longer it kinda macerated and lasts longer.

Memories of baking

This is one of the most unique gourmand perfumes I have ever smelled. While there are tons of fragrances that smell like iced cakes and cookies, this fragrance captures the experience and process of baking the dessert. I smell the almond and vanilla extracts, the sugar, the spices, and the flour. It's reminiscent of watching people bake desserts in a fancy Parisian cafe. This fragrance evokes the excitement you feel when the croissants only have a couple minutes left in the oven. The longevity is also great, and I can smell it on my hair and clothes for hours.

Hear me out, let that fragrance macerate before using it!

This is a soft gourmand fragrance. That Madeline scent is there! When I first tried this fragrance it felt underwhelming! It wasn't really giving Madeline to me and the scent quickly disappeared when I wear it! I decided to let Afternoon Delight sit for 3 months untouched till I just recently tried it again! It smells so much better! The notes have intensified and longevity is so much better!

Beautiful vanilla but does not last.

The smell of this perfume is absolutely stunning. It's a beautiful vanilla scent that does not smell like pastry. Although at times it smelled like a perfume I used in High School. Still, I liked it. It was not overwhelmingly sweet, but a soft vanilla. Sadly, it had no lasting power so I had to return it.

Afternoon delight

I blind bought this when it first launched. It was a light cream color but vanilla usually changes to purple with time and it's happened with this scent. It has macerated beautifully. When I first got this it was too doughy to my nose so I didn't wear it. I kept the bottle and noticed the color change and noticed the doughy-ness was refined and now it's a much more pleasant vanilla pastry smell.

Beautiful scent

Afternoon Delight is such a beautiful blend of vanilla and musk. It's got notes of vanilla, madeleine, sandalwood and musk,making it a super cozy and warm fragrance.It's got that alluring scent that smells just like vanilla and freshly baked pastries - think whipped cream and all things delicious!

A no for me

While this is a nice sweet fragrance, there's something about it that I do not like. Something very artificial smelling, maybe the caramel note? It destroys the fragrance. I would not buy the full sized fragrance of this perfume. Pass. There are better gourmands out there than this one.

For the first 5 seconds this smells like true vanilla extract. Unfortunately it dries down to a play dough aroma, and stays that way. So much potential!

I love this perfume

The more I smell this perfume the more I like it. There’s a certain aspect of it I don’t like I can’t place it but it fades and the dry down is so good. It’s a sweet bakery type smell for sure but there’s something else I’ve never smelled before. It’s really good

light milky vanilla

on the tester strip this smelled like vanilla extract, but on me personally it smells like vanilla milk. nice, light, subtly sweet milky vanilla. but this doesn't last very long which i was surprised because i have another replica fragrance that lasts super long, but every fragrance is different so im not too surprised.

My new favorite

Either the batches have possibly changed, or the people leaving negative reviews had an expectations of a much richer candied sweet vanilla smell. This smells like a true vanilla extract, with a warm after scent like baked cakes and breads. Very subtle. I have loved this brand for many years, and have not been able to seem to find one I like as much. This is a new favorite. My other favorites are, By the Fireplace, Beach Walk, and Jazz Club. I also like Lazy Sunday Morning, but I wear that one less. I wear the scents with different seasons, generally. I think this one will be the first year round scent I will have. I am a fan of cooking and baking, so the fact it smells like real extract to me appealed to me and it is still clean smelling, never overpowering.
