Putain des Palaces - Woda Perfumowana

SO GOOD

I really love this perfume, I got the sample set and originally was going after another perfume in this set (like it) to be specific, then after trying them all this one turned out to be the one I bought a full bottle of. The smell is very powdery with a mix of amber and a little leather, my husband smelt rose my daughter smelt cinnamon?! Sigh, on my grandson whom I was watching while I sprayed this on me throughout the day, yeah it seemed to not linger too long but in all actuality it did..while I thought I needed it it appears that I didn't. My daughter said I smelt good! My husband loves it too. I love it, no regrets. I only wish they came out with a body cream to go with it..

I've tried many of Etat Libre d'Oragne fragrances. This is one of my favorites. Very nice. Don't let the name put you off, it's really nice.

Lipstick and Powder

Putain des Palaces smells, yet again for ELdO, nothing like the name. This is a soft, beautiful powdery lipstick scent, like violet-scented powder and the slightest hint of leather. I adore this scent and will continue to wear it and buy it, however the lasting power leaves something to be desired. Definitely the type of perfume to douse oneself in. Perhaps that's what makes me the putain des palaces?

This is the scent of a woman who knows her art, whether she charges for it or not. Like many, I was intrigued by the name and shocked at how beautiful it is. Yes, I can be judgmental and was expecting a skanky bomb but this one is

Rice Powder

The name suggest something very exuberant but I find this to be quite subtle and pleasing. The rice powder is very noticeable on me, which I wasn't expecting since that is a note that is normally on the background or used to give a powdery smell, but in this fragrance it is definitely identifiable.The other two main notes that I detect are the rose and leather. If you are not a fan of rose, I would still give this a go since it is a unique take on it. I wouldn't describe this fragrance as sexy or sensuous, for me it is an everyday scent.

Not for me

Putain Des Palaces has such a captivating name that translates to “Ritual of a Femme Fatale”. I’m glad I ordered the sampler set to give this range a try rather than blind-buying because on Sephora the notes are incomplete. The complete notes are “Rose absolute, violet, leather, lily of the valley, tangerine, ginger, rice powder, amber, and animal notes” as per the sampler box. Unfortunately within half an hour, I started to notice it bared a very strong resemblance to play-doh on my skin (I’m thinking it is the rice powder but who knows). Needless to say, I have since scrubbed it off. However, if this fragrance does end up working with your skin chemistry, you will be happy to know PDP has one of the stronger sillage in the collection. And yes, it is very powdery. P.S. If you are interested in anything in the ELDO line, get the sampler line. It is honestly such great value for what you get.

Provocative name, comforting fragrance.

When did Sephora start carrying ELDO? Whew. The name is quite shocking and makes you expect something frightful and filthy. (This is also the perfume house that created Secretions Magnifiques after all.) Yet this fragrance is easy to like, with its soft leather and ginger, rice, powder, and floral notes. It is almost a different kind of gourmand. It's neither soapy nor fresh, but it is appealing and warm, while just hinting at body musk and, well, sex. This is a wintertime favorite, for me.
