Does not sharpen properly

I love the Katy Navy color. However, I agree with one of the other reviewers where the quality of the pencil is bad. I sharpen the pencil with the sharpener that's included and it doesn't shave properly - the pencil is loosened and it falls out of the wood casing! I hope Guerlain sees this and does something about the quality. I really love this color.

there are better pencils for much less

Pencil was recommended by a salesperson, I wanted a strong black liner to use on the upper water line. Normally their recs are good, but this pencil wears down quickly and smudges easily. I won't buy again.

Beautiful

At my age I wanted to get away from the harsh black liners and since I am letting my natural white/gray hair grow in I opted for this pretty gray pencil. It glides on smoothly, lasts all day and really makes my green eyes stand out. Even though I look younger than my age, I don't believe women should continue to wear the black liner once they hit 50, to me it makes the eyes look older and more drab.

Guerlain Changed Their Eye Pencil For the Worse

I have been using Guerlain's eye liner pencil for 8+ years and loved it! I recently bought a new eye pencil as I ran out. However, they changed their eye pencil to now be gel. This pencil goes on very thick. I tried sharpening the pencil so that I could get a thin line, but as soon as the pencil touches your eye, the sharp tip goes away. The actual eye liner is very gel like and soft, so it does not keep shape after sharpening. If you want a thin line, then this stick is horrible. Also, because this eye liner goes on so thick and dark, it runs. If you use this pencil on your lower eye, be prepared to look like a raccoon in about 1-2 hours. I don't know why Guerlain changed their eye pencil, but please bring the old one back!

Pencil crumbles easily when sharpened

This used to be my go to eyeliner but the last 3 pencil's I've purchased have been lacking in quality. They crumble very badly when sharpened. I've resorted to keeping them in the refrigerator and I'm still having this problem. For the price and how quickly I'm going through them I cannot afford to purchase again. It is unfortunate because the color is perfect. I think this is why I kept using for so long.

I have this liner in the shade Black Jack and it is not as pigmented as I would like my black liners to be. It doesn't stay in the waterline, but it is long wearing and dosen't smudge much after it sets. Not a holy grail product, but definitely not bad

This eyeliner goes on smoothly but it tended to smudge and smear really easily. Also this is more of a grape color and I was looking for a deeper purple eggplant tone. I only used it the one time, definitely worth a trip to the Sephora at the mall to try it out before you buy it.

neat new packaging..

I bought this because i had noticed this part of the new arrivals..I bought this at King of Prussia Mall in Pa..opened it up when i got home and the inside is sponge with black ink soaked in it..u also get an angle brush..u dip it in and apply...it also reads on the packaging NOT TO STORE THIS UPSIDE DOWN<<<Store In An Upright position...I dipped the brush in and the brush soaks up the ink and u apply..its very easy to apply.. also does it run..ok here comes the weird part..i already had makep on and i wanted to test its stability..I put some saliva on my finger and smudged it...it didn;t budge IMO..it did stay put...i know when i tested it in the store i dipped my finger in it and the ink was difficult to come off... Smell ...none that i could notice...i do love this concept of the gel eyeliner..i see there are other colors here u can choose from, but i only noticed black in the store..18.00 u can't beat it for product and angle brush... color is very black and dries to a matte color.. would i re-purchase this again yes but in a different color.. is "the sponge' the new concept it seems with certain makeup products?
